The Georgian Nutrition Society (GNS) was honoured to participate, for the first time in its history, in the 23rd International Congress of Nutrition (ICN), organised by the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS). We are deeply grateful to the Nutrition Society for their support, which made our participation in this landmark event possible.

The ICN 2025 programme offered a comprehensive overview of current global developments in nutritional science, grounded in rigorous, evidence-based research. Topics addressed a broad spectrum of challenges facing both high-income and low- and middle-income countries, with a particular focus on the integration of nutrition within healthcare systems and the development of effective public health strategies.

For Georgia, these discussions hold particular relevance. While the role of nutrition in health is increasingly recognised, its full integration into the national healthcare system remains a critical challenge. The Georgian Nutrition Society strongly advocates for a systemic approach in which nutrition is embedded across health policy, clinical practice, and professional education.

We look forward to continued collaboration with the international academic and professional nutrition community as we work toward a stronger, evidence-informed foundation for public health nutrition in Georgia.
